Three of UW-Madison's 2022-2023 Fulbright scholars are faculty who reside in the College of Letters & Science. Congratulations to Katarzyna Beilin (Department of Spanish and Portuguese), Adam Kern (Department of Asian Languages and Cultures) and Anne Pringle (Department of Botany).

Being honored are Andrew Buller, assistant professor of chemistry, and Jose Israel Rodriguez, assistant professor of mathematics.

New information science major aims to appeal to a wide array of undergraduates, preparing a talent pipeline that will drive economic growth in the region and beyond.

Through capstone courses, internships and partnerships with employers, L&S students have worked on a variety of projects. From partnering with companies like Capital One to interning at the Wisconsin’s state capitol many of the experiences lead to jobs for the UW-Madison students.

Study led by Integrative Biology Professors John Orrock, and Ellen Damschen, looks to restore one of North America’s most biodiverse ecosystems.

Shanee McCoy (African American Studies '09) a champion for students with a long record of increasing college access and success, will serve as the next director of UW–Madison’s Precollege Enrichment Opportunity Program for Learning Excellence (PEOPLE). McCoy is well-positioned to lead the program, which helps low-income and first-generation Wisconsin youth achieve their academic goals.

Data Science, Computer Sciences and Psychology all make up the top five fastest growing majors showing UW-Madison's continued evolution to make sure higher education captures student interest and meets the needs of employers here in Wisconsin and around the world.

The annual Regents’ Diversity Awards recognizes individuals and programs that foster access and success for historically underrepresented populations. Among the 2023 recipients is professor Lori Kido Lopez, whose research and teaching focus on ways disenfranchised communities use media to promote empowerment and social justice.

The awards honor staff members for their excellence in effectiveness, innovation, creativity, originality, leadership, climate, and service to the university.
