Jennifer Mnookin named UW-Madison chancellor
Jennifer L. Mnookin, Dean of the School of Law and Ralph and Shirley Shapiro Professor of Law at the University of California, Los Angeles, has been named the 30th leader of the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

L&S Dean to Serve as Next UW Provost
Following a nationwide search, John Karl Scholz, an economist and dean of the College of Letters & Science at UW–Madison, has been chosen as the university’s next provost. In his six years leading the university’s largest college, Scholz won praise for his leadership, innovation, and advocacy on behalf of L&S students, faculty, staff and programs.“Karl has both a deep knowledge of our university’s strengths and the insight to understand where we can continue to grow and improve,” says Chancellor Rebecca Blank.
Thanks, Mike: Badger Band director gives grand finale
After 50 years as director of the University of Wisconsin Marching Band and 45 years of spring concerts, Leckrone said goodbye. Nearly 30,000 people attended his last three shows, selling out the Kohl Center Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
