The College of Letters & Science Dean’s Ambassador Program is a volunteer, leadership program under the oversight of the College’s Office of Strategic Communications and Advancement. Dean’s Ambassadors are student leaders who assist in helping the College meet its strategic goals of fostering community among the Letters & Science student body, strengthening the relationship between the College and its alumni base, and celebrating the College’s achievements.
Why be a Dean's Ambassador?
Through monthly meetings, events, and engagement opportunities, you will gain a deeper understanding of the College's role in campus life and have the opportunity to shape teaching, research, and higher education administration efforts. Dean's Ambassadors develop a range of highly marketable experiences that will benefit any career, including networking, mentorship, leadership, communications, marketing, project management, and evaluation skills.

Commitment
Students will be asked to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per semester of Ambassador-related projects, selected from the following:

Are Dean's Ambassadors compensated?
No. Dean's Ambassadors are volunteers and do not receive compensation.

September 3, 2024 (beginning of fall semester 2024)
Qualifications
Students who apply to be Dean’s Ambassadors should possess a strong affinity and enthusiasm for a liberal arts education. Potential Ambassadors should also maintain a curiosity and willingness to learn about and from a diverse population. In particular, we require:
- Second-year student or higher starting in academic year 2024-2025 with an L&S major;
- 2.5 GPA or higher;
- Contact information for one reference;
- Volunteer, leadership, student organization, work, or other similar experience;
- Commitment to advancing diversity within the College and on campus; and
- Willingness to commit to full academic year, with option to extend.
