More than 1,100 Wisconsin high school students and teachers visited Madison in April as part of outreach programs in the Language Institute's "World Languages Day" and "World Cinema Day"
At World Languages Day, more than 700 students participated in more than 50 language and culture-oriented workshops and performances led by faculty and students from language departments and area studies programs.
At World Cinema Day, students participated in an educational screening of a German and Persian documentary, with remarks from UW-Madison faculty and students, and a discussion with the film’s German director.
