AwardAnthropology Professor Claire Wendland has won a post-PhD research grant from the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research to support additional archive-based research for her current project on narratives of maternal death in Malawi.

The Wenner-Gren grant will allow Wendland to expand the historical aspect of analysis by examining medical writings from colonial-era Nyasaland in several European archives.

Congratulations Claire!
