UW writes its own history with 24-hour social media project
With only 24 hours to complete the task, University of Wisconsin-Madison students, faculty, staff and alumni participated in a project to document what makes UW a great place to live, learn and build friendships.
The project asked participants to submit e-mails, photos and tweets with the hashtag #UWRightNow from midnight to midnight on Wed., April 18 that captured some essence of UW life.
Some submissions were posted directly to the #UWRightNow website.
The website is still up and depicts an up-to-the minute timeline of the submissions.
The College of Letters & Science and several departments within L&S joined in on the fun social media experiment. For highlights, follow the links below:
- College of Letters & Science: From catching Dean Sandefur hard at work to visiting the Undergraduate Symposium, several submissions from L&S made it to the website. Submissions were sent from the official L&S Twitter account, @UWMadisonLS.
- Department of Chemistry: UW-Madison chemists were particularly active in displaying what it means to study at a world-class research university.
- Bucky Badger: This UW-Madison mascot was a hot topic for many individuals who tweeted in their encounters with Bucky.
- L&S Learning Support Services: LSS created a fun video from a bumblebee's perspective to capture the walk between classes.
