Each year the Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Association (WSHA) invites students studying at universities across Wisconsin to apply for 12 highly competitive scholarships.
This year UW-Madison students enrolled in the Department of Communicative Disorders were awarded 7 out of the 12 scholarships for the 2011 competition.
The UW-Madison Department of Communicative Disorders scholarship recipients include:
Peter Andrew Meulenbroek - 2011 WSHA Foundation Research Grant $1000.00. This annual grant supports scientific inquiry that will advance the discipline of communication sciences and disorders.
Abygail Marx - 2011 Gladys McKinley Scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00. This annual scholarship provides support for a graduate student from a rural farm background who plans to work as a speech-language pathologist in schools or medical sites that serve small rural communities.
Sara Misurelli – 2011 Vicki Lord Larson and James R. Larson Research Grant $1000.00. This annual grant supports scientific inquiry that will advance the discipline of communication sciences and disorders.
Sandra Leonard- 2011 Friends of WSHA Scholarship $1,500.00. This annual scholarship provides support for a first year graduate student who is pursuing an MA or MS in the field of speech-language pathology.
Rebecca S. Bartlett – 2011 Vicki Lord Larson and James R. Larson Research Grant $1000.00. This annual grant supports scientific inquiry that will advance the discipline of communication sciences and disorders.
Lisa Vinney- 2011 Stanley Ewanowski Scholarship $600.00. This annual scholarship provides support for a graduate student who plans to work as a speech-language pathologist or audiologist.
Cynthia Chow- 2011 Jack Kile Scholarship $1,000.00. This annual scholarship provides support for a graduate student who plans to work as an audiologist.
