The Department of Theatre and Drama had several awards winners during 2008-2009.
- Assistant Professor Patrick Sims received the Joyce J. and Gerald A. Bartell Award in the Arts and the Class of 1955 Distinguished Teaching Award
- Associate Professor Manon Van de Water received a 2009 Vilas Award
- Graduate student Sheri Williams Pannell received a UW–Madison Outstanding Women of Color Award
- Graduate student Pete Ryberg received the 2009 L. Lyman S.V. Judson and Ellen Mackechnie Judson Student Award in the Creative Arts
