Communication Arts alum Steve Bornstein ’74 receives Wisconsin Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni Award. The award is the Association’s highest honor and most high-profile and long-standing award. It celebrates prestigious graduates for their professional achievements, contributions to society, and support of the university over the course of their career or lifetime.

African American Studies and Economics alum Alexander Gee ’85 receives Wisconsin Alumni Association Luminary Award. The College of Letters & Science is set to launch a Chicana/o and Latina/o major in fall 2023. The degree will be the first major dedicated solely to Chicana/o and Latina/o studies across the University of Wisconsin System.

The annual Regents’ Diversity Awards recognizes individuals and programs that foster access and success for historically underrepresented populations. Among the 2023 recipients is professor Lori Kido Lopez, whose research and teaching focus on ways disenfranchised communities use media to promote empowerment and social justice.
