Join L&S on April 14-15, 2026, for the party to pay it forward — our seventh annual Day of the Badger! Here at the College, we’re excited to celebrate the accomplishments of our incredible community and raise critical funds to support the next generation of Badgers.

Herb Kohl Philanthropies has announced a pledge to extend the late Sen. Herb Kohl’s longstanding support of the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s La Follette School of Public Affairs with a historic $30 million lead private gift. The gift will support programming and renovations to UW–Madison’s Music Hall.

Herb Kohl Philanthropies will be donating $30 million to the La Follette School of Public Affairs to support renovations that will transform Music Hall into Herb Kohl Hall. The donation will help connect the growing school, which is currently spread across 28 buildings on campus.

Inspired by her mentor, a physics alumna continues a legacy of support, a quest for knowledge and the pursuit of discovery.

Here at the College of Letters & Science, we are grateful to the support from donors who value the work being done to provide a world-class liberal arts education to each generation of Badgers.

For the Hollands, going to UW–Madison has become a beloved family tradition. And they believe the Wisconsin Experience is meant to be shared, which is why they support scholarships for students in L&S.

For the first time, a University of Wisconsin–Madison building will bear the name of John and Tashia Morgridge, alumni and visionary partners to UW–Madison, who have for decades made significant contributions to the university, beginning with a humble $10 gift in the 1960s.
