Backed by funding from the National Science Foundation, College of Letters & Science faculty are tackling a red-hot research topic.

UW–Madison researchers are collaborating to develop course material for teaching students how to design and build systems resilient to cyberattacks.

Computer sciences professor Gurindar (Guri) Sohi has won the 2025 Computer Pioneer Award in Honor of the Women of ENIAC from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Computer Society. The first person from UW–Madison to receive the honor Sohi is recognized for his contributions to enhancing the efficiency of microprocessors and his influence on computer architecture.

The designation recognizes the quality of the Doctoral Program in Computer Sciences and opens the door to greater resources and opportunities for research collaboration in cybersecurity.

For the first time, a University of Wisconsin–Madison building will bear the name of John and Tashia Morgridge, alumni and visionary partners to UW–Madison, who have for decades made significant contributions to the university, beginning with a humble $10 gift in the 1960s.

Assistant Professor of Physics Ke Fang and Assistant Professor of Computer Sciences Xiangyao Yu will each receive $75,000 to support their research.
