Professor Elliot Sober
Elliot Sober, Hans Reichenbach Professor and William F. Vilas Research Professor of Philosophy, was recently elected President of the Division of Logic, Methodology and Philosophy of Science at its General Assembly held in Nancy, France.

Sober begins his four-year term as president on January 1, 2012.

He joins a long line of distinguished philosophers of science who have served as presidents of this international organization.

The Division is a member of the International Union for History and Philosophy of Science, which itself is a member of the United Nation's International Council of Scientific Unions.
