School of Music Professor of Composition Laura Schwendinger’s work will be heard off-Broadway this fall.
An original composition by Schwendinger will be part of “Sounding Beckett,” a performance that combines three one-act plays by the late Samuel Beckett with new music pieces written in response to the plays. The production is scheduled to run Sept. 14-23 at the Classic Stage Company in Manhattan.
Schwendinger’s contribution will be paired with Footfalls, a 1975 play centered on a pacing woman named May. It will be performed by the Cygnus Ensemble.
