The School of Music is happy to announce several faculty, staff and student awards:

  • Douglas Hill (faculty, horn)—Chancellor’s Award for Distinguished Teaching
  • Laura Schwendinger (faculty, composition)—Goddard Lieberson Fellowship (American Academy of Arts and Letters)
  • Richard Davis (faculty, string bass)—Spencer Tracy Award for Distinction in the Performing Arts (Wisconsin Historical Society)
  • Justin Richardson (staff, facilities manager)—Classified Employee Recognition Award
  • Baoli Liu (staff, senior piano technician)—Academic Staff Professional Development Grant
  • James Kryshak (graduate student, voice)—Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions semi-finalist
  • Ching-chieh Hsu (graduate student, clarinet) and Elias Goldstein (graduate, viola)—Neale-Silva Young Artists
  • Charles Workinger (undergraduate, trumpet performance/business) and Rachel Felton (undergraduate, clarinet performance/communication arts)—New Arts Venture Challenge award
