Dr. David Amodio, (MS'97, PhD'03, Psychology) has received the Association for Psychological Science Janet Taylor Spence Early Career Award.
This award recognizes transformative contributions to psychological science by rising stars in the field, celebrating new and cutting edge ideas coming out of the most creative and promising investigators.
Amodio earned his PhD working with Psychology Professors Patricia Devine and Eddie Harmon-Jones. His work reflects the cross-cutting and synthetic approach valued in the Department of Psychology.
Amodio has become a prolific, highly visible researcher whose scholarly work is path breaking and agenda setting in the field of intergroup relations. He is one of a very small set of scholars who is able to link micro-level processes, using a range of neuroscience tools, to macro-level issues.
Amodio's successes continues to reflect well on the Department of Psychology and the department takes pride in the role they played in his early development!
