The Wisconsin Initiative on Climate Change Impacts (WICCI), a project of the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), released its first comprehensive report, Wisconsin’s Changing Climate: Impacts and Adaptation.
WICCI represents a partnership between the UW-Madison, DNR, and other state universities, agencies, and institutions. John Magnuson (Professor Emeritus, Center for Limnology) and Richard Lathrop (Research Limnologist, DNR; Honorary Fellow, Center for Limnology) co-chair the WICCI Science Council.
The report will serve as a resource for business executives, government, natural resource managers, public health officials and other decision makers as they take strategic steps to preserve jobs, invest resources wisely, build resiliency and protect our built and natural environment in the face of a changing climate.
The report included the work of many from L&S, including Emeritus Professor John J. Magnuson (Limnology & Zoology), Professor Sharon Dunwoody (Journalism & Mass Communication), Daniel Vimont (Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences), among others from UW-Madison.
