The Language Institute and the National Council of Less Commonly Taught Languages (NCOLCTL) are pleased to present three new online courses on teaching less commonly taught languages (LCTLs) at the postsecondary level:
- Fundamentals of Language Teaching Methods
- Introduction to the U.S. Educational System
- Teaching African Languages
The courses meet local and national needs to strengthen the teaching and learning of many LCTLs in the United States. They were developed through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The first course in the series, Fundamentals of Language Teaching Methods, is offered for credit through the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
All three courses are offered through NCOLCTL as non-credit professional development.
With Sally Magnan and Antonia Schleicher as co-directors, the writing team consisted of Magnan, Schleicher, Dianna Murphy, Erlin Barnard, and Robin Worth.
