Two new co-edited volumes by La Follette School faculty address today’s pressing social policy problems.
- Professor David Weimer’s book, “Investing in the Disadvantaged: Assessing the Benefits and Costs of Social Policies,” co-edited with Aidan Vining, concerns the application of cost-benefit analysis to social policy in 10 important policy domains.
- Professor Carolyn Heinrich’s book with Economics Professor John Karl Scholz, “Making the Work-Based Safety Net Work Better,” was just released by the Russell Sage Foundation and reassesses U.S. labor market policies and examines eight areas of the safety net where current policies and institutions should be changed to improve the prospects of low-income families.
