Second-year students: Not sure what you should major in? Still trying to map out your career plan?
Don’t panic — the College of Letters & Science has you covered.
As part of the L&S Career Initiative, the college is offering a new academic- and career-planning course, starting this January 2015. Inter-L&S 210 L&S Second-Year Career Development Course: Taking Initiative will teach second-year students practical job skills, goal-setting, critical thinking and reflection.
Students will learn to leverage the knowledge, skills, and abilities gained from their liberal arts degrees and out-of-class experiences to prepare for the changing world of work. They will also meet world-class alumni mentors, who will share valuable insights about various professions and strategies for preparing for the job market. Career advisors will regularly participate in class to connect students to resources across the college and campus.
