L&S is #1 – again! Thank you to the more than 1,680 alumni and friends who helped place the College of Letters & Science atop the Day of the Badger leaderboard again this year with a total of more than $607,000.
Nearly 50 individual Letters & Science departments and units participated in this year’s campaign with 23 areas offering matching gift opportunities to inspire additional donations. The College’s success was driven by a surge in first-time donors and in gifts from recent alumni.
The College of Letters & Science Annual Fund raised more than $28,000 during this year’s campaign, bolstered by a generous gift from Nancy Obin Sukenik (BA, History, ’69). Sukenik challenged Letters & Science to reach 100 donations during the 2022 Day of the Badger campaign, which would unlock her $10,000 gift. The College finished the campaign with 119 donations.
“We are so grateful to our alumni and friends for supporting L&S during this year’s Day of the Badger campaign,” said College of Letters & Science Dean Eric M. Wilcots. “Your generosity ensures that all students receive the Wisconsin Experience they deserve. I want to especially thank Nancy Obin Sukenik for making this year’s campaign such a tremendous success.”
Gifts to the College and its departments provide student and faculty support, from covering application fees for prospective students to providing undergraduate research and travel grants. Gifts to the L&S Annual Fund support student scholarships, create leadership opportunities through the Dean’s Ambassadors program, and provide internship support through SuccessWorks.
