Associate professor Melanie Buhr-Lawler of the Department of Communicative Disorders received a Professional Development Grant to attend the American Academy of Audiology's annual conference.
AudiologyNOW is an annual event held in Boston, Mass that brings together audiologists to discuss the latest in audiology. This year's theme is "Audiology Means Business" and will take place from March 28-March 31, 2012.
Buhr-Lawler’s clinical focus is working with deaf and hard of hearing children and adults. She is the Audiology Clinic Coordinator at the UW Speech and Hearing Clinic.
She oversees the UW's Hearing Aid Recycling Program (HARP) and coordinates the hearing screenings for the Dane County Head Start program. Dr. Buhr-Lawler supervises Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) students clinically and also teaches courses in the Department of Communicative Disorders.
