Fedor Nazarov, professor of Mathematics, has been invited to speak at the International Congress of Mathematicians. Nazarov will give a 45-minute lecture at the congress which will be held in Hyderabad, India in August 2010.
An invitation to speak at the ICM – the most important math conference held every four years – is a great honor for a mathematician. Fedor joined the department in 2007 as an associate professor and was promoted to full professor in 2008. He received the Prize of St. Peterburg Mathematical Society for the best young mathematician of 1993 and the Salem Prize of 1999, a very prestigious prize in the area of harmonic analysis.
