Marit Sallstrom, a UW-Madison graduate student working with UW limnologist Jake Vander Zanden, led two workshops on the 'Smart Prevention of Aquatic Invasive Species' at the Governor's Northern Economic Development Summit November 11-12, 2009.

The workshop was run in conjunction with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and UW Extension, and is part of a broader effort of the UW Center for Limnology to translate recent research findings relating to invasive species spread and impact into more effective natural resource decision-making for the state.

This and other workshops have been funded by the Ira and Ineva Reilly Baldwin Wisconsin Idea Endowment.
