Emeritus Professor Jim Knox
Emeritus Professor Jim Knox (Geography) will receive the Lifetime Achievement Honors of the Association of American Geographers (AAG) for 2012.
AAG Honors are the highest awards offered by the Association of American Geographers. They are offered annually to recognize outstanding accomplishments by members in research and scholarship, teaching, education, service to the discipline, public service outside academe and for lifetime achievement.
The AAG will confer its Honors and Awards at a the Annual Meeting Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, February 28 at the 2012 conference in New York City. Read the award citation [pdf].
Knox recently retired from the UW-Madison Geography Department after 42 years of service.
