Student reporters in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication received a number of awards from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association this month.
The Student Awards for Excellence went to recent graduate Madeline Nordholm (BA'09, Journalism and Spanish), for a television sports report on the UW Table Tennis team. The story, which aired on the Badger Report, received a 2nd place award.
Students in the Intermediate Reporting classes also received an award for an in depth, multimedia look at the recession.
The students, in reporting classes taught by Pat Hastings and Steve Walters, designed a Web site which featured print, audio, video and links that examined the magnitude of the recession.
