University of Wisconsin-Madison Journalism and Mass Communication Professor Young Mie Kim sprung up as an innovator in action even before the Year of Innovation dawned this week on campus.
Together with colleagues at the Morgridge Center for Public Service, Kim embraced South Madison partners in her community-based learning/research course through the School of Journalism and Mass Communication with Savor South Madison, which was highlighted Tuesday at the Year of Innovation celebration.
The website, a project of Kim’s students in an upper level journalism course on social media, highlights the professor’s partnership with the Community-University Exchange (CUE).
“Young Mie Kim’s fresh look at solving a business issue in South Madison with a website worth more than $5,000 helped students learn about business, communications and community,” says Beth Tryon, CUE program chair and assistant director of the Morgridge Center.
