Institute for Research on Poverty Hosted 19th Annual Summer Research Workshop

In mid-June, the Institute for Research on Poverty hosted its 19th annual Summer Research Workshop, which brought together established and emerging scholars to discuss "Current Research on the Low-Income Population."

Closed sessions included presentations on education, public housing, race, children and family, recent program evaluations, and evaluation methods and education.

IRP's Robert J. Lampman Memorial Lecture took place on June 16 and former IRP Director Irwin Garfinkel (Columbia University) presented "The American Welfare State: Laggard or Leader?"
