Courtney Hillebrecht, a political science doctoral student, recently received the National Science Foundation Dissertation Research Improvement Grant in the area of Law and Social Sciences.

This type of grant is rare and allows doctoral students the opportunity to acquire funds independently from their university in order to further doctoral research.

These grants allow doctoral students to undertake significant data-gathering projects and to conduct field research in settings away from their campus that would not otherwise be possible.

Congratulations, Courtney!
