The Department of Geography saw some noteworthy personnel shifts this year. Professor Matthew Turner completed four years as Department Chair, showing exceptional wisdom, energy, resourcefulness and good humor.
The Department is also hiring two new faculty members: Erika Marín-Spiotta and Keith Woodward, both starting this fall, an associate director for the Cartography Laboratory (Tanya Buckingham), a Department Administrator (Alice A. Halfen) and a Director of Graduate Programs (Sharon Kahn).
Finally, the Department is pleased to announce the incoming chair will be Professor Robert J. Kaiser, a political geographer.
