On October 20, Wisconsin First Lady Jessica Doyle and campus Peace Corps representative John Sheffy spoke to a standing room-only crowd of over 60 students about their language learning and Peace Corps service.
The event, sponsored by theLanguage Institute, with theAfrican Studies Program and LACIS, is part of a regular series of the Language Institute "Language for Life" that brings UW-Madison alumni to campus to talk with current students about their life experiences using a foreign language that they studied in college in their personal and professional lives.
Each guest speaker spoke about service in the Peace Corps, life-changing experiences enriched by learning and speaking second, third, and more!, languages.
