Congratulations to UW Emeritus Political Science Professor Dennis Dresang who was awarded the Women's Philanthropy Council "Champion Award" for 2009.
The Champion Awards are presented to a man and a woman from campus nominated by their peers for outstanding advocacy to women.
Founded in 1988 as the Council on Women's Giving, the Women's Philanthropy Council has pioneered new national standards for women as philanthropists. The Council is the first major gift organization for women at a co-ed educational institution, leading activities designed to bring more women into volunteer leadership roles and to secure major gifts from women philanthropists and their families.
