We have some very exciting news in the Humanities: the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awarded the College a $2.5 million grant. We received the first $400,000 in May.
With the grant, we will establish 12 positions for teaching and research in the humanities focused on the interdisciplinary crossings and connections between the West and Asia: the Middle East, China, the Indian subcontinent and the Pacific Rim nations. Given the global landscape and an increasing focus on Asia, this grant will help make the university a leader in the humanities. See the full release online.
