Comp Sci, Adobe develop new video technique that removes shakiness

Computer Sciences Professor Michael Gleicher and the Graphics Group have developed a new video stabilization technique in collaboration with colleagues at Adobe.

The technique uses a content-preserving warp to transform shaky, hand-held video so that it appears as if it were taken with more professional equipment.

This new method goes beyond traditional video stabilization in that it not only removes shakiness, but makes the video look as if the camera were moved with dollies or cranes of the kind used in film production.
