Communication Arts' Lopez honored as Outstanding Woman of Color

Lori Kido Lopez, the Hamel Family Assistant Professor of Communication Arts, has been selected as one of seven Outstanding Women of Color for 2015-16 by the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Lopez, who is also affiliated with the Asian American Studies Program, studies the ways minority groups such as women, racial minorities, and queer communities use media in the fight for social justice. She joined the Department of Communication Arts in 2012.

A campus-wide reception to honor the Outstanding Women of Color will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge of the Pyle Center. Click here to see the full list of honorees.
