Spring 2021 arrived, as it usually does, in fits and starts on the UW-Madison campus. This year, the yearning for sunshine and outdoor fun—after months cooped up with limited options for congregating—lured students out earlier than ever before, to find a study spot, toss a ball with friends, stroll along Lakeshore Path. So what if the grass was still brown and the lakes still partially frozen? Lines for food carts were a harbinger of warmer, longer days to come.
Our photography intern, sophomore Colton Mansavage, captured dozens of images of spring unfolding on campus, and we wanted to share a few of them with you. Perhaps they will bring back memories of your own spring days on this beautiful campus, as you hurried to class past rows upon rows of spring tulips, blazing with color after a long, cold winter.
