Chican@ & Latin@ Studies certificate student, Nobel Perez, received the Regent Jesus Salas Academic Activist Award for 2009. This is an award initiated and supported by former Regent Salas and emphasizes students’ involvement in the community as activists while maintaining academic excellence.
Perez is majoring in Sociology and Latin American Studies and plans to pursue graduate education in Public Health and Medical Sociology.
