Chemistry duo wins American Chemical Society awards

UW-Madison Professors of Chemistry Samuel Gellman and Laura Kiessling were recently named recipients of 2014 American Chemical Society National Awards.

Gellman will receive the Ronald Breslow Award for Achievement in Biomimetic Chemistry, while Kiessling will receive the Alfred Bader Award in Bioinorganic or Bioorganic Chemistry.

Gellman and Kiessling will be honored at the 2014 ACS Award Banquet in conjunction with the 247th ACS National Meeting in Dallas.

Kiessling also recently received the Hofmann medal for excellence in the field of chemistry at the Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin Symposium in Zurich, Switzerland.
