Research mentorship opportunities are some of the ‘most important learning experiences’ for students in their undergraduate careers. These relationships through Honors in the Major or programs like Undergraduate Research Scholars are beneficial in multifaceted ways for both students early in their careers and for their faculty mentors.

Dan Kapust is excited to work with the students in the program and help them get more out of their college experience.

The Louise Troxell Award and Edna Kernwood Glicksman Award were created to honor the cause of women on this campus. Informally known as the Troxell-Glicksman Awards, they recognize outstanding junior or senior self-identified female students from across UW–Madison, nominated by faculty or academic staff.

Olivia Ligman named 2023 Richard Ralph Winter Phoenix Rising Humanitarian Scholarship from the College of Letters & Science for her support on advancing labor rights for students working in campus dining and residence halls.

Psychology major Abdullah Marei, History, Gender and Women’s Studies, and Political Science major Reilly Coon, and Gender and Women’s Studies and Political Science major Alanna Goldstein receive 2023 Dean’s Prize from Dean Eric M. Wilcots from the College of Letters & Science.

Juliet Chang’s year-long exploration of the Hmong diaspora brings her to six countries during planting and harvest seasons.

Three seniors, graduating from the College of Letters & Science, have been selected by Dean Eric M. Wilcots for the Dean’s Prize. Candidates for this award completed a minimum of 24 Honors Program credits, made significant contributions to UW–Madison and the local community, completed an undergraduate thesis or major research project, and excelled in their classes.
