Last week, L&S alumni, friends and parents flocked together to celebrate UW–Madison’s annual fall fun-raiser, Fill the Hill. The campaign, organized by the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA), aims to raise funds and build lasting relationships with alumni and supporters. This year, L&S soared to new heights, setting records and showcasing the transformative impact of philanthropy on the student experience.
L&S raised $15,744 for its annual fund, thanks to the generosity of 121 donors. Overall, 49 L&S units collectively raised more than $122,000 from more than 900 gifts – a 6% increase in revenue and a 17% increase in gifts compared with the 2023 Fill the Hill event.
“We are incredibly grateful to our alumni and supporters for their unwavering generosity,” says Eric M. Wilcots, Dean of the College of Letters & Science and Mary C. Jacoby Professor of Astronomy. “Your contributions have a profound impact on our students, providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. Together, we are creating a brighter future for all L&S students.”
In total, campus raised more than $510,000 from 3,334 gifts. These contributions highlight the campus community’s commitment to supporting its various units and initiatives.
The impact of these gifts on the L&S student experience is nothing short of transformative. Philanthropic support enhances educational opportunities, provides scholarships, funds research projects and supports student services. Funds raised during Fill the Hill enable the College to offer a richer, more inclusive educational experience, ensuring students have access to the resources they need to spread their wings and succeed.
