Sharon Hutchinson, African Studies Director, will lead 15 high school social studies teachers and curriculum planners from across the United States to Rwanda for 30 days of curriculum development work. This endeavor is made possible by a Fulbright-Hays Groups Projects Abroad Award, a grant of the U.S. Department of Education.

The teachers will explore the theme of youth and development, and will incorporate diverse topics ranging from coffee production to Rwandan popular culture.

Assistant Director Catherine Reiland is the project coordinator and has joined hands with fellow participant Sarah Hinton to organize the logistics of the sojourn in Rwanda.
