On October 23, 2009, Biocore Outreach Ambassador (BOA) undergraduates teamed up with the Baldwin-funded Mazomanie Science Outreach Outpost (MOO) to sponsor a 'Family Fun Science Night' at Mazomanie Elementary School in Mazomanie, WI.
Nearly 300 people from 91 families participated in various hands-on activities in the gym, fill out their "BINGO" card and visit the MOO on the second floor.
Inside the MOO, participants netted critters who live in creeks, looked at them under a microscope and found out what a zebra fish embryo looks like.
There were about 90 undergraduate and graduate students from the UW-Madison who volunteered their time to run the activities.
About half of students were Biocore Outreach Ambassadors who have been partnering with Wisconsin Heights teachers and administrators since 2004 to bring UW-Madison science resources into classrooms.

The Ambassadors organize all of the activities and coordinate with many other outreach partners on campus to participate in Science Night including: Alpha Chi Sigma (AXE), Clinical Laboratory Science Student Organization (CLSSO), Insect Ambassadors, Students Participating in Science Education (SPICE) and UW Astronomy Department graduate students.
