1. Pay It Forward

At its core, Day of the Badger is a philanthropic event. We are raising funds to create life-changing experiences for current and future Badgers. Your gift to the College of Letters & Science Annual Fund is not just a donation, it’s a ripple effect of positive change. It fuels opportunities for students, resources for research and support for the College to continue providing a world-class liberal arts education. And with every student who flourishes, their impact ripples outward, shaping the world for the better.

This year, your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $16,000 thanks to generous donations from Peter ('73) and Glenda Friedrich, Aaron ('94) and Leorah ('93) Eisenberg, and other anonymous donors.

2. Wear Red

Yes, it’s that easy! Day of the Badger is all about showing off your Badger pride, so slap on your favorite UW–Madison gear and join the sea of red on campus. Not in Madison? Then you might get some comments about your Bucky sweatshirt, which will give you ample opportunity to tell any inquirer all about how you’re celebrating UW during Day of the Badger.

3. Post on Social

Day of the Badger is all about sharing how L&S shaped your life, and we want you to shout it from the rooftops! We’ll be posting a bunch of content on our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X) that you can share. Or tag the College (@uwmadisonls), and we may share your posts.

4. Swing by the Day of the Badger Cafe

Students can visit the Day of the Badger Cafe at Birge Hall from 9 a.m.-noon on April 17. There will be free coffee, cocoa, granola bars and Badger swag. L&S staff members are hosting the event and will be there to share more information about Day of the Badger’s mission and history.

5. Connect with Campus and Your Fellow Badgers

Breathe new life into your old college group chat, give your dorm roommate a call, offer to volunteer your experience with our career center SuccessWorks, or plan a visit to campus to see what’s new. There are hundreds of ways to connect (or reconnect) with all the great things that are happening throughout the Badger community. Day of the Badger is your annual reminder that, “Once a Badger, always a Badger.”
