Students in the interdisciplinary Doctoral Program in Second Language Acquisition (SLA) co-hosted the second annual SLA Graduate Student Symposium "SLA Acquisition in the 21st Century" with students at the University of Iowa in Iowa City in April.

Paper presentations and panel discussions addressed topics related to classroom SLA research and pedagogical implications, assessment, identity in SLA, and technology-enabled language learning.

SLA core faculty member Jane Zuengler (Department of English) gave a plenary address.

The 2010 SLA Graduate Student Symposium will take place in Madison in April, 2010.

The SLA PhD Program is administered by the Language Institute.
