Twelve scholars associated with the Department of German gave presentations on their current research at the international Germanic Linguistics Annual Conference (GLAC) held in Banff, Alberta, Canada this spring.
A total of two faculty members, four graduate students, and six Ph.D. alumni went to GLAC.
Lecture topics showed the remarkable breadth and depth of work produced in the Department of German, such as specialties within Germanic Linguistics, studies of contemporary and historical language phenomena in Europe and in the United States, including several on language change in Wisconsin.
