Each spring, undergraduate students are celebrated with the Louise Troxell and Edna Kerngood Glicksman Awards recognizing extraordinary junior and senior women whose qualifications include exceptional intellectual ability, curiosity, citizenry and engagement in global society.
Candidates are invited to submit application materials after nomination by UW faculty and staff, and students from all UW-Madison colleges and schools are eligible for nomination. Finalists participate in a group interview conducted by a faculty panel; this year, the selection committee members were Professor Susan Brantly of Scandinavian Studies, Professor Bret Larget of Statistics and Botany, Professor Ivy Corfis of Spanish & Portuguese and Associate Faculty Lesley Sager of Design Studies.
“The future is bright with engagement of these formidable female global citizens!” the selection committee stated.
