The College of Letters & Science is a wonderful place.

Our faculty make research breakthroughs that expand our understanding of ourselves and the world, while developing classes that prepare our students to make a good living and lead a good life.

Our students use service learning opportunities to better their communities and pursue internships and coursework that enhance their educational experiences.

And our alumni uphold UW-Madison’s reputation by bringing the Wisconsin Idea wherever their lives take them.

Wonderful, indeed. And this fall we’re once again celebrating all that’s wonderful about L&S and UW-Madison.

L&S wants you to Share the Wonderful during the campus-wide annual campaign kicking off October 1. Our goal is to encourage more alumni to include the College of Letters & Science in their annual gift plans.

Collectively your gifts, no matter the size, make a difference. In last year’s inaugural campaign, 2,700 donors raised more than $700,000 for the College of Letters & Science Annual Fund.

Here are just four examples of how we use gifts to make a difference:

  • Funding 25 new scholarships for outstanding first-year students [read more]
  • Launching the Madison Plasma Dynamo Experience, a ground-breaking research facility that allows our faculty to study the magnetic fields of planets, stars and galaxies [read more]
  • Supporting international learning experiences for students to work in hands-on, interdisciplinary molecular archaeology laboratories [read more]
  • Providing seed funding to student organizations, including the model United Nations, forensics and mock trial teams, allowing students to travel to competitions and build their skills and professional networks.

We hope you can support your alma mater this fall and make an annual contribution to the Letters & Science Annual Fund.
