The College of Letters & Science is pleased to announce that Jennifer Noyes has been named the Associate Dean for Operations and Staff.
In this newly created role, Noyes joins the college’s executive leadership team, which also includes Dean Karl Scholz and Deputy Dean Eric Wilcots. She serves as a senior advisor to the dean and coordinates administrative, operational and financial administration of L&S administrative units, among other duties. Noyes is part of the L&S senior management team along with the dean, deputy dean and other associate deans. She began November 27.
Noyes most recently worked at the Institute for Research on Poverty, where she has served as associate director of programs and management since 2010. She was also a distinguished researcher at the institute, where her work focused on the integration of services and programs designed to enhance the employment prospects and economic wellbeing of low-income families and children, and the implementation of policies and programs related to welfare, child support and child welfare.
Previously, Noyes held positions at the Welfare Policy Center at the Hudson Institute, the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, the Wisconsin Department of Administration and the Wisconsin Legislative Audit Bureau.
Noyes earned a Ph.D. in social welfare from the UW-Madison School of Social Work, with a dissertation focused on evaluating child support policy options for incarcerated noncustodial parents. She also holds a B.A. in public affairs and mass communication from the University of Denver and a M.A. in public affairs from the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.
