Three professors in the Department of Mathematics have been named recipients of Simons Foundation Fellowships. Dima Arinkin, Jordan Ellenberg and Sebastien Roch are among 40 outstanding mathematicians awarded fellowships, along with 12 theoretical physicists.
Jessica L. P. Weeks, an expert on comparative foreign policy, the causes of war and international security, is the 2018 winner of the Karl Deutsch Award. The prestigious award from the International Studies Association recognizes the scholar under the age of 40 who has made the most significant contribution, through a body of publications, to the study of international relations and peace research.
Ronald Radano, a professor of African Cultural Studies and Music, has been named a 2018-19 Berlin Prize Fellow, the American Academy in Berlin announced. The professor will analyze colonial-era African recordings in Berlin’s Ethnographic Museum.
Communication Arts associate professor Eric Hoyt is a leader of Unlocking the Airwaves, a collaborative project that will bring together split archival material from the National Association of Educational Broadcasters and create a resource for scholars, educators and the public.
